DETAILED DESCRIPTION
As with any hybrid vehicle, there is a need to manage the torque split between the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and the Electric Motor (EM). This controller is being designed for the MSOE Formula Hybrid Team, with the thought of future expandability and upgradeablility in mind. This will allow for future team members to use this controller for years to come, even when the ICE and EM are replaced with completely different units.
On a high level, this controller monitors various vehicle parameters, and then runs them through an algorithm to determine how much torque is needed, and how that torque should be split between the ICE and EM. There are many factors that weigh into this, but on a high level, that is all that this controller is managing.
