The Pi based robot controller is a pi sheild that allows the Pi to effectivly control robots. It mirros the io functionalities of National Instuments` RoboRio, the statard controller in First Robotics Competation. The goal of this project is to produce a inexpensive system that can control retired robots so they can still be used for demontrations and fun as most teams could not afford to keep their one and a half thouand dollar controller on a retired robot. The Pi based robot controller Provides 10 12-bit PWM output(+ 6 more on an expantion header) with variable frequency, 10 digital output, 4 12-bit analog inputs and also a CAN bus interface based on the MCP2515.Although The Pi based robot controller is designed to be used with First Robotics Competation robots, it can be used in other applications as well. With this amount of IO it can be used to control almost anything
