DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Common low cost IR beam Kart Lap Timer TX (sender) unit, created to replace my sender that I've almost lost 3 times.
I used the opportunity while I still have one to read the IR output and effectively duplicate so others can replace theirs if they've already lost it.
Originally intended to capture the tx specifics so when I lost my tx box (again) I could replace it with an arduino instead of buying a new kit.
Output of original TX is 8.1ms square wave (123.456790Hz) 50% duty cycle output of 38khz IR beam from two IR LEDs driven in parallel.
Use a low-cost 3 x AA battery box with switch and put the PCB in one of the AA slots.
