DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Gaggiuino has two options for assembly, "Lego" or PCB. While a nice case is available for the Lego components, there is not a way to keep it looking clean. This primary objective of this project is to provide an option of using the Lego components without the interconnected wire mess.
One component I did not feel comfortable including was the mechanical relay used for the 3-way solenoid valve. Instead, a fairly common SIP-4 relay pinout is provided for a 5v controlled SSR. An obsolete, but readily available economically priced 5V SSR the 2A g3mb-202p should work. The active part Panasonic AGQ12105 has also been tested. The pin out is wired to receive an optional current limited 5V on Pin 3. Pin 4 should then work in the same open drain output mode as the mechanical relay. If needed, a solder pad to bypass this resistor connection is available on the rear of the board. Several SIP-4 pinouts do not make secure connections with pin headers and must be soldered directly.
Since this set of components are the Lego components or compatible but with the dimmer wired independently, the non-gaggia-lego PIO project environment should work without any code modification.
Optionally an isolated mosfet can be installed to drive a single color 12V LED. A tank light is the easiest way to determine water level. I've created a fork of the Gagguino repo with the LED code changes and Nextion firmware with brightness slider control. The pinout pitch of the mosfet board does not match the board pinout pitch. The smaller holes on the 12V in and Load pins are 3.5mm. After soldering the male headers, they will have to be bent slightly to mate to the 2.54mm female header.
A 15mm total length male header is recommended for the 12V PSU for a secure connection.
